I Derp'ed Up Guys

Originally I had wanted to film, edit, and post my first ever vlog on Friday and then repeat and post another one on Saturday after the “Pinkie Pride” episode aired.  

....

Sadly neither of the two things happened.  The only thing I ended up getting out of the whole ordeal was a headache.

Even though I wasn’t successful with my goal of getting them up on time I still was able to shoot my first episode and I’m in the process of planning my next one.  I’ve decided that until I figure out how to turn these around faster I’m not going to stress on getting them up on time. After all, other bronies post reviews late anyway so why should I be any different? Each vlog is going to be loosely close to the episode that I’m reviewing so they may be a little old but at least they will still be relevant.  

Anyway I’m still in this to win this and I’m going to keep posting on here as well as keep working on those blasted vlogs.

Michael Morones Fund

In case you guys haven't heard there's a Fundraiser going on right now for Michael Morones, an 11 year old boy who attempted to commit suicide after being bullied for liking "mlp". His attempt was prevented but not before he suffered some brain damage.  Once more it's up to us in the fandom to help out someone in need.

Honestly that's one of the main things that I love about this fandom
Sure we are cray cray
Sure some of us can be over dramatic
But at the end of the day we help those who need it most.  We empty our pockets for people we've never met before because we know it's the "RIGHT" thing to do.  It's the core message of this show and it's one of the main reason's I decided to become a Brony and love this show.

I BUCKIN love trap music.

Not really sure why though. Perhaps it's both bad ass and silly at the same time.  I mean it is kind of over the top in terms of beats. Also most trap music makes me dance like either a Zombie or Bernie (from weekend at Bernies).

Anyway I thought it was cool and also the best "Pony" music I've heard all week so give it a listen.

Get ready for a Nor'easter

Hey how's it going fellow Bronies and Pegasisters? It's been a little while since I posted and so much has happened since my last post here.

Just to name a few...

There have been two more episodes of My Little Pony
New York turned into the Hoth
The Brony Show held the Golden Muffin awards
And oh yeah
The Patriots lost the AFC game for the second year in a row.
*grumble*

Honestly though I'm actually suprised at how well I took the loss of this game this year.  In previous years if the Patriots lost a high stakes game, or even just a regular season game, I would have been a mess for a few days (Or more depending on the team we lost too or how important the game was). But this year was different.  I felt "ok" with it the fact that we lost fair and square to a much better team. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't kicking my heels in the air and singing "The Smile" song

Anyway, the season is over, we didn't go to the superbowl but we did better than other teams this year.   Also the fact that we made it as far as we did with a rag tag team of misfits was a pretty valiant effort.

But enough about sports lets talk some "PONY"

This Friday and Saturday I'm planning on doing my first two installments of my "Vlog" which I will also post on here for you guys to watch.

I attempted to start vlogging about the show way back at the begginning of season 3. However, that didn't turn out great so I ended up pitching the whole thing together and now I'm starting again from stratch.

In addition I got some advice from a friend of mine who is an on and off vlogger.  He gave me some awesome tips that I'm hoping will make me better at it this time around.  

In the mean time I'm going to start posting as much as I can on this blog so you guys can have all kinds of wonderful pony/boston goodness.  So please be sure to keep checking the blog.

Introduction

Hey what's up?

Welcome to "The Boston Brony" blog

Before I go over what I plan to do with this site let me first give you guys a little overview of my self.  For starters my name is Rick, I'm 27 year's old, I live in manhattan but was born and raised in Massachusetts, I'm about to get married, and there was something else.... oh right I'm a pretty avid fan of "My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic"

Most of you who will probably come across this blog will have already figured that out given the title. However, for those of you who are clueless about "mlp" and why a grown man would love such a show let me fill you in on the whole secret. It's a pretty damn good show.  From the writing, to the fanbase this show truly surprised the hell out of me. What had started off as a mere little interest of mine soon expanded to become a life style change for me.
But let me iron things out with that last statement.  I didn't throw out all my old tee shirts and go strictly to wearing mlp swag, nor did I start cosplaying as pinkie pie; no I am still more or less the same guy I was before watching the show.
And while I might as well be honest with you when I first tried to watch the show I didn't like it.
Don't ask me why I still don't know the answer. Maybe it was because I wasn't in the right frame of mind, or maybe it was because I dove right into the middle rather than start at the beginning. (the first episode I ever watched was hearts and hooves day which is kind of a more girly episode) But for whatever the reason I almost didn't become a fan of the show.  It wasn't until a friend of mine told me to try it again and start from the beginning that I slowly became hooked.

Almost two years later and here I am, starting my own blog with a "Pony" theme to it.  I plan to write a lot about "mlp" and will probably even post some videos and such as this gets going. Ultimately though I may go over anything in this blog.  Believe it or not I have a lot of other things I enjoy outside of the realm of mlp and I will probably cover them in this blog.

From movies, to sports, to beer, if I feel like writing something It'll probably be up here.
